Terms & Conditions
At Coastal Fencing Solutions, we aim to make every project straightforward from quote through to completion. These terms outline the general conditions that apply when engaging us to complete your fencing, gate or retaining wall project.
1. Quotes
Quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated and are based on the scope, measurements and site information available at the time of quoting.
Where a quote has been prepared from plans, photos, measurements or satellite imagery prior to a site inspection, the scope and pricing may be confirmed following a site visit.
Only works specifically listed within the quote are included.
2. Deposits & Payment
Unless otherwise stated, a 50% deposit is required to secure your booking, with the remaining balance due on completion.
Any approved additional works or variations will be added to the final invoice or invoiced separately.
3. Changes & Variations
We understand that projects can sometimes change.
Changes requested after accepting a quote, additional works or unforeseen site conditions may result in a variation to the original price.
Where reasonably possible, we will discuss any additional costs with you before proceeding.
4. Site Conditions
Our quotes are based on the site conditions reasonably visible or known at the time of quoting.
Occasionally, excavation can uncover conditions that couldn't reasonably have been identified beforehand, such as rock, buried concrete, significant tree roots, bamboo, unsuitable ground or other concealed obstacles.
If these conditions require substantial additional labour, machinery or materials, we will discuss the situation with you before proceeding with additional works where reasonably practicable.
5. Underground Services
We take reasonable care when excavating and carrying out works.
Clients are asked to let us know about any private or unusual underground services they are aware of, including irrigation, electrical, drainage, water or other privately installed services.
We cannot accept responsibility for services that were not reasonably identifiable, accurately located or disclosed prior to works commencing, to the extent permitted by law.
6. Property Boundaries
The client is responsible for confirming the required location of the fence, retaining wall or other works.
If there is uncertainty regarding the legal property boundary, we recommend having the boundary confirmed by a registered surveyor before works commence.
Unless specifically included within the quote, surveying and boundary identification are not included in our services.
7. Access & Surrounding Areas
Please ensure we have reasonable access to the work area for our team, equipment, machinery and material deliveries.
We always take reasonable care around lawns, gardens, driveways and surrounding areas. Some minor disturbance can be unavoidable during construction, particularly where machinery, excavation or material handling is required.
Any specific access or landscaping concerns should be discussed with us before works commence.
8. Materials
Materials will be supplied as specified in your quote and are subject to supplier availability.
Natural products such as timber can vary in colour, grain and appearance and may naturally expand, contract, weather, split, twist or move over time.
Minor variations between manufactured material batches can also occur.
If a specified product becomes unavailable and a suitable alternative is required, we will discuss any material change with you.
9. Ground Levels & Finished Heights
Unless specifically stated otherwise, fencing will generally follow the existing ground levels and natural contours of the site.
This can require sections to be stepped or raked and may result in minor variations in finished heights or gaps.
10. Approvals
Unless specifically included within our quote, the client is responsible for obtaining any required council, building, body corporate, neighbour or other approvals relating to the works.
If engineering, certification or approvals are included within our scope, this will be clearly stated in the quote.
11. Scheduling & Weather
We do our best to meet all scheduled commencement dates.
As outdoor construction is affected by weather, supplier availability and site conditions, dates may occasionally need to change.
If this occurs, we'll communicate with you and arrange the works as soon as reasonably possible.
12. Existing Structures
When removing or working around existing fences, retaining walls, landscaping or structures, we will take reasonable care.
Existing structures can sometimes contain deterioration or concealed conditions that only become apparent once work begins. If this affects the scope of works, we'll discuss it with you.
13. Workmanship
We stand behind the quality of our workmanship.
If you have any concerns following completion, please contact us and give our team a reasonable opportunity to inspect and address the issue.
Our workmanship warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, natural timber movement, ground movement, severe weather, vegetation, accidental damage, alterations by others or circumstances outside our workmanship.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights or guarantees you may have under Australian Consumer Law or other applicable legislation.
14. Site Safety
For everyone's safety, children, pets and other persons should remain clear of active work areas, machinery, excavations and equipment while works are underway.
15. Photos
We may take photos of our work for project records and to showcase completed projects on our website or social media.
If you would prefer that photos of your property aren't used for marketing purposes, just let us know.
16. Acceptance
By accepting our quote, paying the required deposit or instructing us to proceed, you agree to the scope of works, any specific conditions contained within the quote and these Terms & Conditions.
Specific conditions included within an individual quote will apply to that particular project.
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
